MCYD ENDORESMENTS
MCYD Candidate Endorsement Process
The Muscogee County Young Democrats are proud to support candidates who share our values, fight for progress, and represent the next generation of Democratic leadership in our community.
Our endorsement process is transparent, accessible, and intentional, ensuring that the candidates we back are aligned with our mission and committed to building a more just, inclusive, and thriving Columbus and Muscogee County.
Who We Endorse
MCYD endorses Democratic candidates who are committed to:
Expanding democracy and protecting the right to vote
Advancing racial, gender, LGBTQIA+, reproductive, and economic justice
Empowering young people as leaders and decision-makers in our democracy
Building a livable, thriving future for generations to come
We look for candidates who not only share these values but also demonstrate integrity, leadership, and engagement with young voters in Muscogee County. Whether you’re running for local office, school board, or city council, MCYD wants to help amplify campaigns that align with our vision for progress and representation.
How the Process Works
1. Apply
Candidates complete a brief endorsement application to share information about their campaign, priorities, and vision for Muscogee County.
The form is designed to be straightforward and inclusive for candidates from all backgrounds.
2. Review
Our Endorsements Committee, made up of MCYD members and leaders, reviews all applications.
We evaluate alignment with MCYD’s mission and values, as well as demonstrated commitment to civic engagement and community service.
3. Interview (if needed)
Selected candidates may be invited to meet with the MCYD Executive Board to discuss their platform, leadership style, and strategies for youth outreach and voter engagement.
4. Announcement & Support
Once endorsed, MCYD proudly announces your campaign across our social media and communication channels, connects you with our members, and provides opportunities for volunteers, grassroots engagement, and visibility throughout your campaign.
Our endorsements are partnerships, not just public statements—built on shared values and a commitment to moving Muscogee County forward together.
